Is committed to supporting efforts that result in effective, on-the-ground reductions of wildfire risk in areas and on properties, most at risk to wildfire. TCFSWG has operated a successful cost-share grant program since the 1990s. The program assists landowners in removing hazardous fuels and creating defensible space around homes in the WUI and has also undertaken subdivision-wide protection projects with private landowners. Due to limited funding and an effort to encourage broad participation for increased community impact, project priorities are focused on groups of neighboring properties (3-5 adjacent properties, depending on acreage). This approach maximizes mitigation effects and investment. We encourage you to organize a neighborhood meeting and then each landowner follow the program steps and guidelines.
Applications from individual landowners and groups of homeowners are solicited year-round.

The following guidelines are a general outline of how these projects are administered.
